
Sundar Pichai started his career at McKinsey &Co in 2004 after completing the Wharton MBA. Pichai's Google initiative began as the president of Product Management, he was first asked to improve customer experience with this Google search toolbar which could be used with Firefox and Internet Explorer. In the beginning, he was involved in several Google product lines, such as Gadgets and Google Gears. Sundar could make an important breakthrough in his Google career later in the process as he was a part of the team that developed Google Chrome, their browser. 2008. 2008 was a great year for Google, as it saw the Chrome browser debut and Pichai being promoted to Vice President of Product Management and Development. At the close of 2012 Pichai was elevated to the post of Senior Vice President. Pichai was then promoted to Product Chief Officer for Google and also the Android Smartphone Operating System.
